Aborted

Aborted is a Belgian death metal band from Waregem, formed in 1995. Founded by vocalist Sven de Caluwé, Aborted released a demo tape and eventually were signed to Uxicon Records. Since then the band has released three splits (on Soulreaper Records, Bones Brigade, and Listenable Records, respectively), six full albums, an EP, and a DVD. Aborted are currently signed to Century Media.

Aborted have a dedicated fanbase organized under the collective name of the Aborted Army, who attend Aborted shows dressed in blood splattered surgical gear, inspired by the cover of the album Goremageddon: The Saw and the Carnage Done, which included a demented surgeon.

On December 1, 2009, frontman Sven de Caluwé has announced the band's new line-up, including his former Whorecore co-member Eran Segal on guitars, his System Divide co-member Cole Martinez on bass, Abigail Williams vocalist and guitarist Ken Sorceron and former collaborator Dirk Verbeuren on drums. The band released a new EP, the first with the new line-up, on January 14, 2010.
